I started to Dj professionally in 2002 (Officially in 2003) under W.I.C (West Indian Connections) I am forever grateful to Ansar for giving me my start in the business. He helped me accumulate my music and with him and Dj Jeff (Shawn) helped me learn the basics of Dj'n. In 2004 I then joined the newly created Charisma Entertainment under Dj Riyad. Under his wing, I have learned alot about the Dj & Promotional business by listening to his endless stories about the days of old. In the last 6 yrs, I have Dj'd in various cities such as Edmonton, Windsor, Ottawa, Orlando & New York. I have also Dj'd in most of the major venues in Toronto, such as Guvernment, Fluid, and Circa. I have Dj'd alongside some of the prominent Soca/Chutney/Reggae Artists such as Mr. Vegas, Rupee, Machel Montano, Shurwayne Wichester, Destra, Fay-ann Lyons, Hunter, Adesh Samaroo, JMC Trivini, Dil-E-Nadan, Karma. I have done over 200 private events since I have started Djn including over 100 weddings. I love doing weddings. Being part of that special day, helping make sure everything goes smoothly is something I take a lot of pride and put forth 110% to ensure the Bride & Groom and the entire function has the best time possible.
I also have 3 cd's currently out for sale right now called Rockin Ya All Nite pt 1, 2, 3. These cd's are distibuted by KBIS (http://www.mixxx4u.com/). They are one of the best-selling cd series on the site. They can be found where any West Indian Cd's are sold. I am currently working on the final edition Pt 4 which should be finished soon.

A good DJ is as important to a party as the decoration of the hall or the dinner menu. Choosing a DJ for your wedding reception or private event is one of the most important decisions that you can make. Everything else can be perfect, but if the music is not great, the party will fizzle. There are thousands of DJs all over the country, but to narrow the choices down in your area, you can start by trusting the word on the street. Ask your friends or family for a good reference from an event they might have recently attended. And if you are at a party where the DJ was impressive, find out where they’re from and book them yourself.
Separating the professionals from the backyard DJs can help you avoid becoming a horror story. Nobody wants an irresponsible music person who shows up late or not at all, doesn't motivate your audience, plays inappropriate tunes or uses faulty equipment without backups. Once you've got the selection narrowed down to a few candidates it’s important to keep your focus on the type of entertainment you want -rather than try to get the DJs into a price war. If a DJ keeps dropping thier price to get your business, he/she may not be a very good. Most professional companies rely on referral business and maintain a certain pricing standard. Not that bargaining is out of the question, but it may well be worth spending that extra little bit of money to make sure you’re getting a quality entertainer.
